Skåne in southernmost Sweden is one of the most dynamic and expansive areas in Northern Europe. Strategically located in the fast-growing Öresund region, which incorporates Skåne and Greater Copenhagen, it offers access to a market of 3.7 million consumers – a prime location for pioneering companies and business success inside the European Union.
Over 15 000 commuters cross the bridge between Copenhagen and Malmö every day via car or trains that run several times an hour. On February 3, 2016, 40 international residents of Greater Copenhagen and Skåne met in the historic university town of Lund, Sweden to chat about what prospects commuting between countries offers international citizens.
Skåne is a landscape of contrasts, offering great diversity within easy travelling distance. The countryside is varied – from the wide open plains, rolling fields of rapeseed, and 400 km of coast lined with white sandy beaches, to the deep forests of the northeast and the steep cliff faces of the northwest. It is only a short journey from peaceful countryside and picturesque fishing villages to the vibrant cities of the region: Malmö in the southwest with its cosmopolitan atmosphere, Helsingborg in the northwest and Kristianstad in the northeast.
The Öresund region consists of Southern Sweden and Eastern Denmark. It is one of the most dynamic regions in Europe – making it an attractive location for businesses, professionals, tourists and students alike.
